NOTE: TLIF0020 supersedes and is equivalent to the previous TLIF2080 Safely access the rail corridor

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor. It includes taking appropriate safety precautions to: access the danger zone, access the rail corridor and respond appropriately in an emergency. People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.

This unit involves the application of Rail Infrastructure Manager rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety.

Note: While this unit applies to all people accessing the rail corridor some Rail Networks require network specific training for this unit of competency.

Access:
E-Learning: Completion of a Pre-Training Review is required prior to accessing this module. Please allow up to one (1) business day for this to be released. Once this has been completed, please allow up to one (1) business day for the course module to be released.

Face to Face Sessions are also available at our Rockhampton and Nambour Training rooms.

Duration:
E-Learning: completed online at your own pace. We provide you with up to 6 months, from your enrolment date, to complete your E-learning course. 

Face to Face: This course will take up to 6 hours. 

Delivery:
E-Learning: This course is E-learning and online assessments (External Delivery). Learners will need access to a device that allows online access such as a laptop or Ipad/tablet.

Face to Face: Internal Delivery. 

Learner Support:
If a learner requires support services, please contact our office for assistance. This course requires basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy. Assessment requires single choice, multiple choice and short answers.

Assessment:
E-Learning:

Competency is achieved when all assessment tasks have received a satisfactory mark.
There are three assessments to complete.

  1. Theory Assessment - completed and submitted through the learner portal
  2. Scenario Assessment - completed and submitted through the learner portal
  3. Video Assessment - record the video and upload to the assessment through the learner portal.

You must complete all requirement correctly to receive a satisfactory mark. You have two (2) attempts for each assessment item. You will be notified via e-mail if a 2nd attempt at unsatisfactory items is required. Once your 2nd attempt is submitted, your assessor will be in touch if a verbal assessment is necessary before finalising.

If a satisfactory mark is still not achieved after the 2nd attempt a NC result is recorded (Competency Not Achieved) and you will need to re-enrol in the unit of competency required.

Face to Face:

You must get all answers correct to receive a satisfactory mark. You have two (2) attempts for each assessment item. Your trainer will advise you if a 2nd attempt at unsatisfactory items is required. Once your 2nd attempt is completed, your assessor will advise if verbal assessment is necessary before finalising.

If a satisfactory mark is still not achieved after the 2nd attempt a NC result is recorded (Competency Not Achieved) and you will need to re-enrol in the unit of competency required.
