Combined Structures Examination

These competencies from the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package form part of the Structures Skill Sets TLISS00113, TLISS00112 and TLISS00111.

The combined units involve the skills and knowledge required to examine structures in accordance with safeworking and regulatory requirements and workplace procedures.

It includes obtaining all relevant previous reports, performing a detailed examination, initiating appropriate actions and completing all required documentation.

People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice and/or guidelines.

This is not a full qualification.

  • TLIB3098 Examine Concrete/Masonry Structures

Upon a Competent mark for each unit a Statement of Attainment will be issued.

DELIVERY MODES

These units are offered:

  • Internally - face to face workshop and assessment.
  • Externally (online) - All training and assessment are delivered via eLearning platform, or
  • Combined - A mixture of face to face workshop and eLearning (online) modules.
 

INTERNAL DELIVERY

Face to face workshop is required. Logbooks must then be completed in a work environment. Accell would expect Logbook completion to be within 12 months of enrolment date.

EXTERNAL DELIVERY (ONLINE)

Training and assessment is delivered via our eLearning platform and is available anytime. 

External Requirements

Participants must have sufficient computer skills, access to a computer or other viewing device (laptop or computer recommended), and a sufficient internet connection to view the course and complete all assessments including uploading video and documents.

By enrolling, learners will create an online profile and gain access to training and assessment through their Learner Portal. They are expected to be able to access, read and interpret a range of learning materials, training activities and assessments via the online platform.

Learners must agree to a Learner Declaration at the completion of each assessment to declare all work is completed independently and is their own.

WORK PLACEMENT


Learners will need to complete supervised activities in the field (workplace) to complete this course. Logbooks will be supplied for the learner to complete the relevant activities and tasks. This details the equipment you will need access to. Once the logbook is completed it can be submitted via the Learner Portal.

If a Learner does not have a suitable workplace, the eLearning component can be completed however, a learner will not be able to be issued a Certificate OR Statement of Attainment until the logbook is completed (in the workplace).
 

ACCESS

Learners must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment prior to accessing this module. This does not require a pass mark but rather acts as an evaluation and to ensure sufficient language skills and capabilities to complete courses successfully.

**Please allow up to one (1) business day for this to be released. Once this has been completed, please allow up to one (1) business day for the course module to be released.

Reasonable Adjustment

To accommodate for learner’s special needs and LLN requirements, assessment instruments are designed to allow for reasonable adjustment, including verbal assessment and the use of a scribe to record answers.
Assessment may be altered to suit the characteristics or equity needs of learners.

All adjustments to assessments will be negotiated with the candidate before the assessment event and will maintain the integrity of the unit of competency.
