TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor. It includes taking appropriate safety precautions to: access the danger zone, access the rail corridor and respond appropriately in an emergency. People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfill the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.

This unit involves the application of Rail Infrastructure Manager rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety.

NOTE:
While this unit applies to all people accessing the rail corridor some Rail Networks require network specific training for this unit of competency. This course is not accepted for the Queensland Rail or Transport for NSW Rail Networks.

EXISTING ABILITY SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Students must be able to speak, understand and complete the assessments in English, and pass a basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to training commencement

No previous experience is required.
 
EXTERNAL DELIVERY

Externally (online) - All training and assessment is delivered via our eLearning platform and is available anytime. Courses are self-paced through eLearning modules.
 
Students are provided up to six (6) months, from the enrolment date, to complete the course.
 
It may take up to six (6) hours to complete the eLearning module and assessments.

Face-to-face training is also available at our Accell training rooms in Rockhampton, Nambour, Townsville and Adelaide. Alternatively, Accell have trainers in multiple locations throughout Australia that can travel to your location. Please contact Accell for further information.

External Requirements

Participants must have sufficient computer skills, access to a computer or other viewing device (laptop or computer recommended), and a sufficient internet connection to view the course and complete all assessments including uploading video and documents.

By enrolling, learners will create an online profile and gain access to training and assessment through their Learner Portal. They are expected to be able to access, read and interpret a range of learning materials, training activities and assessments via the online platform.

Learners must agree to a Learner Declaration at the completion of each assessment to declare all work is completed independently and is their own.

Assessments

There are three (3) assessments to complete.
  • Theory assessment
  • Scenario assessment
  • Video assessment.

On successful completion a Statement of Attainment for TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor will be issued.
 
COST

$250 per person (No GST)
 
ACCESS

Learners must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment prior to accessing this module. This does not require a pass mark but rather acts as an evaluation and to ensure sufficient language skills and capabilities to complete courses successfully.

Reasonable Adjustment

To accommodate for learner’s special needs and LLN requirements, assessment instruments are designed to allow for reasonable adjustment, including verbal assessment and the use of a scribe to record answers.
Assessment may be altered to suit the characteristics or equity needs of learners.

All adjustments to assessments will be negotiated with the candidate before the assessment event and will maintain the integrity of the unit of competency.
