QR3.16 Protection Officer

Introduction:
This course is for Queensland Rail Contractors employed as Protection Officers.
This course is aligned to the specific requirements of Queensland Rail’s Network Rules and Procedures MD-12-189. Protection Officer Queensland Network Rules & Procedures (QNRP)
The training addresses safeworking and task requirements for the roles and responsibilities of workers who are required to assess, plan and implement trackside safety protection for themselves or workgroups as defined by Queensland Network Rules and Procedures (QNRP).
On successful completion of this course learners are required to complete 8 mentoring events within a minimum of 3 months and maximum of 6 months period.
On successful completion of this course learners will obtain a Statement of Attainment for:

- TLIE0002 Process Workplace Documentation
- TLIE2029 Conduct Workplace Information Briefings
- TLIF0023 Conduct Track Protection Assessment
- TLIG0003 Work Effectively with Others
- TLIE0009 Carry Out Basic Workplace Calculations
- TLIW0007 Operate Under Track Protection Rules
- TLIF0027 Perform Lookout Duties
QR Certificate of Achievement "QR3.16 Protection Officer"
3, 6 & 12 months for first time qualified and then annually from date of first being qualified.
NOTE: Mentoring events must be completed with a Queensland Rail approved mentor that holds the valid RIW Job Role.

Required every 3 years for QR Certificate of Achievement for QR3.16 Protection Officer.
Recertification must be competed before the expiry date, if the expiry date has passed‚ the learner is required to re-sit the full session, mentoring and final assessment.
Please Note: Reaccreditation requires a valid RIW Protection Officer Role. This includes all monitoring events maintained and up to date. If not maintained full retraining is required.
