TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor. It includes taking appropriate safety precautions to: access the danger zone, access the rail corridor and respond appropriately in an emergency. People achieving competence in this unit will need to fulfil the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.

This unit involves the application of Rail Infrastructure Manager rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety.

NOTE: While this unit applies to all people accessing the rail corridor some Rail Networks require network specific training for this unit of competency.

EXISTING ABILITY, SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Students must be able to speak, understand and complete the assessments in English, and pass a basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to training commencement.
No previous qualifications are required.
 
FACE TO FACE DELIVERY

This course will take up to 6 hours.

Face-to-Face sessions are available at our Rockhampton, Nambour, Adelaide, and Townsville training rooms.

Our trainers can also travel to provide training, depending on location/class numbers.

On successful completion a Statement of Attainment for TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor will be issued.
 
COST

$250 per person (No GST)
 
ACCESS

Learners must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment prior to commencing the course. This does not require a pass mark but rather acts as an evaluation and to ensure sufficient language skills and capabilities to complete courses successfully.

Reasonable Adjustment

To accommodate for learner’s special needs and LLN requirements, assessment instruments are designed to allow for reasonable adjustment, including verbal assessment and the use of a scribe to record answers.
Assessment may be altered to suit the characteristics or equity needs of learners.

All adjustments to assessments will be negotiated with the candidate before the assessment event and will maintain the integrity of the unit of competency.
